Local youth keep busy at Vernon County Fair

Amanda and Natalie Wolf and their mother, Glenda, were busy last week helping with the Vernon County Youth Fair at Nevada. Both girls had several entries in the fair and Amanda was one of the queen candidates. They brought home several ribbons.

Carol Jean Mooney and son, Spencer, Independence, Kan., recently spent the weekend with Debbie Marquart and family and visited Lucille Wolf.

Dorothy Ketner, Beulah Queen, Anna Rourk and Esther Secrest enjoyed lunch at The Chinese Chef, Nevada, July 9.

Eldon and Pam Korinek, and Lucile Wolf ate supper at Chicken Mary's, July 12.

Pastor Stephan's sermon, July 13, was based on Philippians II. The members of the church enjoyed a picnic dinner at Gunn Park after the morning services. Barbara Albright was in charge of the occasion.

Austin Schofield and friends enjoyed a trip to Branson the weekend of July 13.

Betty Hixon visited with Esther Secrest, July 14.

Ed and Opal Brillhart accompanied her brother Bill and Norma Cowan, Nevada, on a weekend trip to Mountain View, Ark., July 11-13. They enjoyed the scenery and lots of good mountain music.

Anna Rourk and Beulah Queen helped Dorothy Kenter and Esther Secrest celebrate their birthdays with breakfast at the NuGrille, July 16.
