'Gals Weekend Out,' Thrift Club June 4 meeting news

Natalie Wolf recently spent six days on a 4-H Equine trip to Lexington, Kentucky. They toured Churchill Downs, The Kentucky Horse Park, the home of Dreamer and many other equine places.

Frank and Kathy Hayes recently returned from a trip to Tenn., where they visited relatives and Frank attended his high school reunion.

It is always nice to see the Tucker Family and their horses in the Good Ol Days Parade.

The Jolly Circle Club members served dinner for the family of the late Bud Pettibon.

The Thrift Club met with Juanita Dominquez, June 4. The hostess seved a delicious lunch to seven members. Esther Secrest, president, conducted the business meeting. The members will go to Chicken Annie's resturant for dinner, July 2. Juanita guessed the "guess what" which was liquid soap, brought by Anna Rourk. Wilma Lynn guessed the box containing costers brought by Sylvia Edgle. The meeting was closed with prayer. Winners at bingo were Anna Rourk, Beulah Queen, Dorothy Ketner and Esther Secrest. Blackout was won by Beulah Queen and Dorothy Ketner.

Ekdon and Pam Korinek enjoyed a recent trip to Branson.

Natalie Wolf was a princess candidate at the ARCA Rodeo held in Nevada, Mo., last week. She had lots of fun participating in the Rodeo princess event.

Amanda Wolf attended the Missouri 4-H Congress in Columbia, Mo.

Esther Secrest went with the Betty and Dale Hixon family to eat at Chicken Mary's, June 8. Special guests were Stan and Roberta Armstrong, Arlington, Texas.

Esther Secrest returned home, June 16, after several days in Catoosa, Okla., helping care for her daughter, Dixie Woolley, who is recovering from surgery.

"Gals Weekend Out" was enjoyed by Pam Korinek, Marilyn Burton, Debbie Keating, Connie Hayden, Margaret Spencer and Terri Townsend, when they went to Branson, June 7 and 8.

June 8, Pastor Stephan's sermon, at the Diamond Community Church, was entitled "Saved to Rescue Others", based on 1 Peter 2:1-9. Joy Muhota sang "Don't You Love Your Vision of Jesus". Joan Koeller preached at the church service, June 15.
