Richard Butts, age 84, formerly of Linn County, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020 at the Brooklyn Cemetery near La Cygne, Kan. Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Two Fort Scott High School swimmers are bound for state competition. Bobby Kemmerer and Oliver Witt will be the first FSHS swimmers in school history to swim at the Kansas 1A-5A State High School Swim meet.
