Eldred S. Whitley, age 79, Pleasanton, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at the Pleasanton Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Oharah holds on to his commissioner seat during Primary

First District Bourbon County Commission incumbent candidate Lynne Oharah will continue the run to keep his seat after votes rolled in for counting late Tuesday night at the Bourbon County Courthouse. According to unofficial results from the primary election, Oharah, a Republican, received 287 votes, or 52 percent, putting him in front of his Republican challengers Matthew J. Crystal, who pulled in 174 votes, or about 32 percent, and Robert Query, who drew 87 votes, about 16 percent of the vote...
