Verna Mae Hackner, age 90, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at the Fort Scott Mercy Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Mapleton, Kan., the daughter of Goldie Young and Alice Wallace Young. Verna married Nelson D. Hackner on June 26, 1948, in Fort Scott.
