The Bourbon County Conservation District observed its 70th anniversary Monday night. Because the BCCD board's regular monthly meeting fell on the exact anniversary, former board members and others were invited to a light meal prior to the meeting. -

The 2015 Fort Scott High School Prom was an event to remember. Rain that fell Saturday evening had spectators, participants and organizers scurrying for umbrellas and raincoats during the prom walk-in in downtown Fort Scott. Light rain fell during the start of the walk-in which took place on Main Street leading into the Liberty Theatre, where this year's prom took place. Rain would let up off and on before the event was eventually hit with a deluge that made it difficult to stay dry... -

CHANUTE --Devin Brooks won the 3,200-meter race at the Thad Clements Invitational here Friday, one of two medals he won on the the day while Fort Scott High's boys won a total of nine medals.
