Monday evening, Fort Scott residents joined Connie Banwart, center, as she gave a walking tour of Historic Downtown Fort Scott. The tour was presented by the Old Fort Genealogical Society. OFGS, which was formed in 1974, will also be hosting a walking tour at National Cemetery on East National Avenue, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Ken Lyon and Arnold Schofield will host the tour. Berm work approved for county quarry

The Bourbon County Commissioners voted Monday to have dirt moved at the Beth quarry. Road and Bridge Coordinator Jim Harris told commissioners he met with contractor Hubert Thomas last week about moving a berm to allow for further blasting at the quarry.
