CHENEY -- Fort Scott High School junior Jonathan Allen shot 45 on the front nine and 41 on the back to finish with an 86 at the Class 4A State Golf Tournament at Cherry Oaks Golf Course here Monday. That score tied for 70 out of 106 golfers at the tournament...

The Fort Scott Community College Board of Trustees wants more time to study recently-enacted state legislation that allows conceal-carry licensees to carry their guns into public buildings. During their regular monthly meeting on Monday, trustees unanimously approved a resolution to House Bill 2052. The resolution allows the college to maintain its current policy of not allowing firearms on the campus while trustees study the law and also the feasibility of implementing security measures...
