Robert Lee Hood, age 61, a resident of Ellinwood, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood, Kan. He was born April 2, 1947, in Fort Scott, the son of Edward Lee Hood and Lenora Lightwine Hood. He married Phyllis Davis and they were later divorced. Clara Luella Huffman, age 87, long time resident of north Kansas City, Mo., died Monday evening, July 21, 2008, at the Bates County Memorial Hospital, in Butler, Mo. She was in the process of moving to be near family. Clara was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Xenia, Kan., the daughter of Charles Edward Spurgeon and Blanche Shorter Spurgeon. According to the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 6:15 p.m. Friday, the raccoon hunters stumbled upon a parked vehicle located near Grand Road.
