The first Echoes of the Trail student cowboy poetry contest wrapped up May 1. Members of the Echoes of the Trail Steering Committee said they want to thank each student who entered and each teacher who encouraged the students. After a very difficult deliberation, the committee selected the first, second, and third place winners. The poems were to be at least 12 lines, rhyme, tell a story with a western theme, and the entrants were either in 5th or 6th grade or age 10 or 11 in 2007...
