Born and raised in Fort Scott, Kan., she attended Victory country school and then Fort Scott Junior High and High School, graduating with the Class of 1973. She lived for short periods in Springfield, Mo., Austin, Texas, and Sand Springs, Okla. She went by Lou during her adult life. However, most Fort Scott friends and family knew her as “Boose.”...
