Sheriff explains enforcement limits on bitcoin mining

During Monday’s Bourbon County Commission meeting, Bourbon County Sheriff Bill Martin shared his concerns and the involvement of his department regarding a Bitcoin mining operation in the northwest part of the county.

Martin said affidavits from citizens have been turned into his office regarding the company, Evolution Technology LLC, which he said is licensed to operate in Kansas. Citizens have voiced concerns to commissioners regarding noise produced by natural gas generators used for the operation.
