Fort Scott High School hosts track and field invitational

Fort Scott’s Keegan Yarick competes at the Fort Scott Varsity Track and Field Invitational Friday at Frary Field. Yarick placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.80.

Fort Scott High School’s boys and girls track teams took fourth place at the Fort Scott Varsity Track and Field Invitational Friday at Frary Field.

Teams from Christian Learning Center also competed in the tournament, with the girls finishing in seventh place with six team points, and the boys scoring eight points to also finish seventh.

The Tiger girls scored 54 team points to finish behind Labette County High School in first place with 142.5 points, Paola High School in second with 140 points, and Chanute High School in third place with 139 points.

Fort Scott’s Dierks Kegler competes at the Fort Scott Varsity Track and Field Invitational Friday at Frary Field. Kegler finished first in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 53.17.

The Tiger boys scored 39 team points to land in fourth behind Chanute High School in first with 180 points, Paola High School in second with 167 points, and Parsons High School in third with 90 points.
