Lady Tigers prepared for state after winning regional title

The Fort Scott High School Lady Tiger softball team earned a trip to the Class 4A state tournament next week with two wins during play in the East Regional Wednesday at Benedictine College in Atchison.

The Lady Tigers (13-8) blanked Independence 5-0 in the semifinals Wednesday afternoon before edging Iola (7-14) 6-4 in the regional championship game late that evening.
