Marion Wilson Cox

Marion Wilson Cox, 84, of Warrensburg, Mo., formerly of Fort Scott, died Jan. 25, 2023 at home following a short illness.

He was born on May 20th, 1938, to Annie Bell Cox in Mountain Home, Ark.

Marion served four years as a private in the United States Army and continued serving in the reserves for another six years.

He married Beatrice (Woodall) Smith on Aug. 14, 2004 in Miami, Okla.

He worked for Wilbert Vault Company and later for himself as a heavy equipment operator.

He was an avid bowler and pilot. He spent his retirement enjoying the lake life.

Marion is survived by his wife Beatrice Smith; daughter Cynthia Cox; sons Michael Cox and Chris Smith; grandchildren Stephanie (Ken) Rothman, Marqus (Heather) Smith; great-granddaughters Athena and Artemis Wood; sisters Mary Alice, Joyce, Nancy, Carling; and brothers George, Henry, Woodrow, and Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Sylvia (Bailey) Cox; mother Annie and stepfather Carl Creviston; sisters Edna and Nettie Jane; brothers Albert and William; and step-siblings Fay and J.O.

Celebration of Life will be March 4, 2023 at Warrensburg Senior Housing Community Center, 451 Northern Hills Road, Warrensburg, Mo.
