County amends budget

Bourbon County Commissioners on Dec. 20 fielded questions on transparency and efficiency during a public hearing to amend the county’s 2022 budget.

Later in the meeting, commissioners approved the new budget, which includes amendments to the appraiser’s fund, bridge and culvert fund, landfill fund and road and bridge funds. Adopted expenditures in those funds for 2022 total $4,090,380, and amended expenditures total $6,550,080. The amount of 2021 tax that was levied in those funds, except for the landfill fund, was $1,546,422, according to county documents.
