Curtis Alfred Owenby

Curtis Alfred Owenby, born Feb. 28, 1928, in Durango, Colo., to Floyd Curtis Owenby and Oral LaVerne Underhill Owenby, died at his home in Fort Scott Nov. 15, 2016.

Survivors include his daughters: Ina Lou Heitman of the home in Fort Scott, Louise Yvonne Owenby Gilman and husband Christopher of Walnut Creek, Calif., Becky Owenby Karleskint and husband Ed of rural Fort Scott; sons, Russell Owenby and wife Pam of rural Fort Scott, Lawrence "Bo" Owenby of rural Fort Scott, Michael Owenby and wife Svetlana of Fulton, and Lyle "Pete" Owenby and wife Angie of rural Redfield; sisters, Joyce Savok and husband John of Sequim, Wa., and Jean Long and husband Richard of Suffolk, Va.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; many wonderful friends including a special friend, Ruth Stroud of Farlington.

Preceding him in death were his folks, a brother, a sister, two grandchildren and the wives of the above special children.

Following cremation, a private celebration of life is to be held by family only.
