Edward Eugene Morilla

Edward Eugene Morilla, age 59, a resident of Fort Scott, KS went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born August 3, 1957 in Fort Scott, KS, the 5th of 5 children born to Elmer Everett Morilla and Mable Charlene Frankie Morilla. He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Janet Arlene Morilla, age 2, and his parents, Elmer and Mable Morilla. Edward dearly loved the Lord, was immersed in Baptism and a member of Community Christian Church. Eddie, as most of us called him, was very much a people person and never knew a stranger. He attended grade school in Fort Scott, KS and was a client of Tri-Valley Developmental Center until he moved to Shamrock, TX to live with his oldest sister, Caron Turner. He loved Texas, his sister, his niece, her husband and their 4 children and the Longhorns. He lived there about 4 years until his dementia progressed to the point of needing further care. He moved back to Fort Scott, KS in May 2014 to live at Fort Scott Manor. On more than one occasion he was able to get out the door and go across the street to see his Dad at Guest Home Estates. Yes, he was sneaky as well as delightful! In January of 2015 he moved to Tri-Valley Housing. Eddie enjoyed going on outings, whether to eat, go on 55+ trips or just drive through the park or downtown to see familiar places. He was an extremely patriotic young man who loved playing his harmonica, bowling, participating in Special Olympics, and going to Branson, MO.

Survivors include three sisters, Caron Turner, Montana, Linda Bower and husband Chet, Fort Scott, KS and Betty Guder and husband Dale, Lawrence, KS. Also surviving are 5 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and 1 great - great niece along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Following cremation a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Community Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A. M. until service time at the church. A private burial will take place later in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community Christian Church or Tri-Valley Developmental Center. They may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main St., P. O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
