FSHS volleyball sweeps league opener

PARSONS -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team swept Parsons and Coffeyville in the first Southeast Kansas League triangular of the season here Thursday evening.

The Tigers (2-0 SEK, 13-7 overall) swept Parsons, 25-19, 25-15, and Coffeyville, 25-6, 25-13. Parsons defeated Coffeyville, 25-21, 25-23). The host Vikings stand at 1-1, 6-11 while Coffeyville is 0-2, 2-8 and has lost 17 consecutive league duals.

Fort Scott plays in the Louisburg Tournament today. The Tigers will host their first home matches of the season against Independence and Labette County in Southeast Kansas League action Thursday at the FSHS gymnasium. Play begins at 5 p.m.
