Local TFI office hosting new toy event Sunday

Over 6,000 Kansas children are in foster care. Organizations like TFI Family Services, Inc. provide services for many of these children. The agency provides services that include foster care, adoption, family counseling, support groups, and other family-centered activities.

For Every child, TFI tries to provide a stuffed animal or doll to take with them during placement. The toys used to keep the children comfortable in the facility need replaced. This high traffic means a high need for donations from our community.

TFI is known well in both Fort Scott and Pittsburg. According to an employee of Pittsburg TFI, they toys are played with as long as possible, but the need is high for new ones. The mission of this event is to collect toys for the facilities.

Be at Walmart Supercenter in Fort Scott on Sunday, November 6, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. New toy items being collected include: coloring books, crayons, markers, reading books, handheld electronic games, cars, trucks, baby dolls, teddy bears or other stuffed animals.
