CPT Bukowski earns Bronze Star

CPT Nathan Bukowski of Lawrence, Kan., has been awarded a Bronze Star for "Exceptionally Meritorious Service during operation Iraqi Freedom. Dedication to duty during combat operations in Iraq contributed to the overwhelming success of the command's mission. His actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 3D Sustainment command (Expeditionary) and the United States Army."

Bukowski, a member of the United States Army, served as the Senior Intelligence Officer for the 287th Sustainment Brigade during OIF '07-'09.

Upon his return to the states Nathan was then able to take advantage of an invitation as a distinguished Veteran guest runner in the 2010 Boston Marathon which occurred April 19, 2010. The invitation was offered to Nathan as he had participated twice in the only authorized remote Boston Marathon, which took place in An Nasiriyah, Iraq.

This is Nathan's second Bronze Star; receiving his first Bronze Star during his first deployment to Iraq in OIF '04-'06.

CPT Bukowski is the son Gary Bukowski of Fort Scott and Karen Bukowski and is married to Christy Bukowski daughter of Jim and Gayle Sackett, Fort Scott.
