Varsity volleyball swept

COLUMBUS -- Fort Scott High's varsity volleyball team suffered a sweep in a Southeast Kansas League triangular here Thursday night.

The Tigers were swept by Columbus, 25-21, 26-24, in the first match. Pittsburg took the second match, 25-12, 25-21.

The Tigers beat both these teams in the first outing of the season Aug. 25 at Fort Scott. That day, FSHS swept Columbus and beat Pittsburg in three games.

Pittsburg swept Columbus, 25-19, 28-26, to keep its hope of repeating as league champs alive.

Fort Scott fell to 3-3 in the SEK and 9-19 overall. Pittsburg is 5-1, 13-14, and Columbus is 1-5, 2-18.
