Edward William Knoblich, age 70, a resident of Fort Scott, died Tuesday, October, 31, 2006, at Medicalodge of Fort Scott. He was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Fort Scott, the son of Edward and May McReynolds Knoblich. He graduated from Fort Scott High School and was employed at Tower Metals as a welder. He married Margaret Vinyard on May 1, 2004, in Independence, Missouri. Edward was skilled at woodworking and carpentry. He also enjoyed building and racing cars, and he loved to ride motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; a son, Jim Knoblich and wife, Jerri, of Hawaii; five step-sons, Bob Bivens, Mike Bivens, Tim Bivens, David Bivens and Ron Bivens; two daughters, Crystal Greenway and husband, Tom, Fort Scott, and Pepper Miles, Fort Scott; two step-daughters, Karen Wilson and husband, Keith, Cabool, Missouri, and Sherry Shuert and husband, Randy, Butler, Missouri; one brother, Roy Knoblich and wife, Sue, LaHarpe; and a sister Carol Popp, Fort Scott. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Nicky Knoblich and a sister, Lois Reeves.

Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2006 at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cheney Witt Chapel.
