City commission approves agreement, match funds for grant as part of overpass study

The Fort Scott City Commission has approved an interlocal agreement and $40,000 in matching funds for a grant toward a study to determine the need for an overpass in Fort Scott. On Tuesday, Fort Scott Planning, Housing and Business Development Director Mary Wyatt informed commissioners the cities of Fort Scott, Spring Hill and Fontana received $2.15 million through a BNSF Railroad Planning Grant for a “railroad crossing elimination study.” Wyatt said Fort Scott’s portion of the grant is $800,000 while Spring Hill’s portion is $1.35 million.. ... -

County commission approves formation of planning commission
