The Bourbon County Commission plans to let voters decide whether to add two commission districts in the November election. In the closest contested race in Bourbon County, incumbent Sheriff Bill Martin kept his seat by a close margin, according to official primary election results released Monday. With 2,430 ballots cast on the Republican ticket for the sheriff’s race, Martin received 1,225 votes (51.08%) to challenger Nelson Blythe’s 1,173 votes (48.92%.) There were 32 undervotes in that race, which occurs when a voter does not vote for one candidate or leaves the ballot blank...

The Fort Scott City Commission voted to proceed with dissolving a partnership with the Bourbon County Regional Economic Development, Inc. organization, and discussed the potential fate of a downtown building on Wall Street Tuesday night.
