Warren Lee Schooley, age 91, a resident of rural Walnut, Kan., passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at the Guest Home Estates Care Home in Fort Scott, Kan. He was born Dec. 29, 1929, on a farm near Walnut, Kan., the son of Maurice Schooley and Elsie Fern Schooley. At the age of 5, Warren and his folks moved to Elsie’s family farm to care for her father. Bourbon County will receive state grant funding for a project to replace a county bridge in need of repairs.
