Francis Dean Pratt, age 89, Mound City, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his daughter's home in Seneca, Mo. He was born in Wanette, Okla., the son of William David and Jennie Belle Sellers Pratt. He graduated from Bronson High School in the Class of 1947. ...

Adam Wayne Bancroft, age 48, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, June 21, 2019, as the result of a vehicle accident east of Fort Scott on U.S. Highway 54. Services for Adam Bancroft will be announced by the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main.

Public Works Director Jim Harris submitted his 2020 budget request, which includes the addition of employees, to county commissioners Tuesday. Harris wants to add two employees to the Road and Bridge budget, which he said is needed in order to keep up on ditch maintenance...
