A petition protesting the city’s issuance of general obligation bonds to purchase two fire trucks for the Fort Scott Fire Department has been validated. Deb McCoy of Fort Scott, one of the organizers of the petition, told the Tribune Friday she was recently informed by County Clerk Kendell Mason that the petition had passed, “and we had enough signatures.” The petition garnered 475 signatures and 325 were needed. ...
