Visiting Bonner Springs shut out Fort Scott High, 6-0, in a varsity soccer match at Ellis Park Thursday evening as Garrett Stephan scored 3 goals for the Braves. Fort Scott fell to 1-12 on the season as it was shut out for at least the fifth consecutive time. The Tigers haven’t scored since losing to Columbus, 2-1, in a shootout in the first round of the Coffeyville Tornado Tournament on September 16...

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) released district assignments for the 2018 and 2019 football seasons on Wednesday, after which schools began trying to fill the open spots on their schedules. How those spots will be filled depend on what classifcation a school was assigned to at the beginning of the week as football classes now have different numbers of schools and different playoff formats...

PITTSBURG — Fort Scott High’s volleyball team posted a split in a Southeast Kansas League triangular here Tuesday night. The Tigers swept Coffeyville in two sets, 25-18, 25-15, and lost to Pittsburg, 25-19, 25-15. No other details were available. The Tigers stand at 2-6 in the SEK with both wins over Coffeyville, and 12-16 overall. LOUISBURG — Both of Fort Scott High’s varsity girls won yet another team title at the Louisburg Invitational here Thursday. Fort Scott’s girls, who have won every meet they’ve entered this season, scored 30 points to take the team title from Spring Hill by 20 points. UNIONTOWN — Uniontown scored 20 unanswered points in the third quarter here Friday night to rally for a 34-26 victory over Shawnee Maranatha Academy. Maranatha (1-5) led 26-14 at the half. Fort Scott Community College’s volleyball team looked to have regained its form last weekend when it swept all four matches in three sets at the Neosho County Tournament last weekend. But No. 15 Highland came to Arnold Arena Wednesday night and won the last three sets of a Jayhawk Conference-Division II match over the Greyhounds to give Fort Scott its third consecutive conference loss, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19...

COFFEYVILLE — Fort Scott High’s starting backfield of Zarek Fewell and Jessie Lawrence combined for 320 yards and six scores here Friday night as the Tigers rolled past Coffeyville, 48-21, in their Southeast Kansas League finale for the season. Fewell scores put him at 16 touchdowns for the season, the most in the SEK this season, while Lawrence now has six scores. Meanwhile, quarterback Jessie Jones threw for 121 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-11 passing...
