Kenneth Dale Wright, age 80, a resident of Overland Park, Kan., died peacefully at his home Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. He was born June 15, 1937, in Dade County, Mo., the son of Noble Sylvester Wright and Goldie Maywood “Maye” (Feezell) Wright. The USD 234 Board of Education approved purchase of some district needs and discussed the start of a new school year at its Monday meeting. After looking at bids for two school buses, the board approved the $60,654 purchase of a 2015 Bluebird 65-passenger bus from Kansas Transit Equipment Company, Inc., and the $70,836 purchase of a 2016 International 71-passenger bus from Midwest Transit Equipment...

Although there are only a few days left to enjoy them this season, the two slides at the Fort Scott Aquatic Center are open for use.
