Connie Sue (Miller) Lehman, 67, of Sabetha passed away April 7, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family, ending a 20 month struggle with cancer. Connie was born April 16, 1949 in Fort Scott, Kan., the oldest child of Wayne and Pearl (Massner) Miller. She was raised on a dairy farm north of Fort Scott. George Hall Fair, age 93, a former resident of Pittsburg, Kan., and more recently of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Tucson. He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Throckmarton, Texas, the son of Nathan E. Fair and Elizabeth Zona Hall Fair. George married Carol May Wenzel on June 1, 1946, in Sherman, Texas. The USD 234 Board of Education approved a new principal for Eugene Ware School following a closed session at its regular monthly meeting Monday night. After spending about 40 minutes in executive session to discuss personnel matters for non-elected personnel, the board approved the transfer of Stephanie Witt, currently an instructional coach at Fort Scott Middle School, to the position of Eugene Ware principal for the 2017-18 school year. ...
