    PITTSBURG -- Uniontown can't defend the Three Rivers League football championship it won last season. But that probably won't bother any of the Eagles. Uniontown won the eight-man championship last season going 6-0 in the league and 9-1 overall. But the program has made the jump back up to 11-man and will be competing against Jayhawk-Linn, Oswego, Northeast and TRL newcomer Yates Center, which moves back to the league after 20 years in the Tri-Valley League...

    PITTSBURG -- With three-time defending champion Pittsburg now playing as a Class 5A independent, Southeast Kansas League football coaches picked Fort Scott High to win the 2016 championship at a media conference held here Tuesday. Fort Scott (5-1 in the SEK last season, 7-3 overall), the runner-up the past two seasons, was perhaps the logical choice based on the fact that the Tigers are the only team besides Pittsburg that has won a league title (2012) in the past six seasons. ...
