Clarence Milton Price, age 89, resident of 523 Andrick for many years, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Medicalodge of Fort Scott. He was born March 13, 1927, in Fort Scott, the son of Albert James Price and Alma Bryant Price. Clarence worked for many years as salesman at Harlan Hardware until it closed and then he worked at Mayco Ace Hardware prior to retirement. ...

Bourbon County Commissioners are debating their role in assisting communities or housing areas with establishing outdoor storm warning systems. On Tuesday, Commission Chair Barbara Albright said the county has been asked to provide $5,000 to help pay for an outdoor warning system at Lake Fort Scott. The county's contribution would be only a portion of the total cost of a siren system, and would not include any future maintenance...
