Multiple emergency agencies respond to a house fire about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 area of 215th Street. No one was home at the time of the fire. More information will be published as it becomes available.

Bourbon County Commissioners on Tuesday reviewed a report of the county's end-of-year cash balance. There will have to be some juggling done before the books are finally closed on 2015 so that no fund has a deficit. "Right now we know we're going to move the employee benefits out of the general fund," Bourbon County Treasurer Rhonda Dunn said. "And we know we're going to have to fill road and bridge out of special machinery."...

Work has begun on a nearly $25 million portion of the $40.8 million USD 234 school bond projects. Fort Scott Middle School's boys won all four games from Chanute-Royster held at the FSMS gymnasium Tuesday evening. The seventh-grade "B" Team started things off with a 24-8 rout of the Rockets. MOUND CITY -- Uniontown High's girls rolled past Jayhawk-Linn, 33-19, in Three Rivers League play here Tuesday night.
