Council updated on storm shelter requirements

The Uniontown City Council met in a special meeting Wednesday night to discuss information received about storm shelters from a recent Federal Emergency Management Agency workshop in Kansas City, Mo. In August, the city was awarded a 2015 Kansas Small Cities Community Development Block Grant from the Department of Commerce for $110,000 to build two storm shelters for the community.
