Edna Mae Harvey Thomas Marsh, age 98, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at the Fort Scott Manor. She was born Sept. 26, 1916, in Fort Scott, the daughter of Chester Harvey and Ettie Hawkins Harvey. She married Earl Owen Thomas in 1936. ...

CHANUTE -- Fort Scott Middle School's girls' basketball teams were swept by Chanute-Royster here Thursday. The seventh-grade "A" team lost 22-17. Tacy Holston led the Tigers with 9 points. Sophomore Andrea Valadez led Fort Scott Community College's women with a season-best 18 points Friday night as the Greyhounds concluded the first semester of play with a 70-64 victory over North Central Missouri at Arnold Arena. Valadez and Carlie Wilhelmi, who scored 16 off the bench, combined to score each of Fort Scott's last 14 points of the first half as the 'Hounds (9-6) took a 32-27 lead into the locker room. ...
