One of Fort Scott's homes featured in the trolly tour has undergone a recent renovation, thanks to the April 2013 hail storm. Like many homes, Jim and Angie Kemmerer's home, built in 1904, received roof damage in 2013. The three story brick home at 324 S. Winfield Scott students to receive new technology

Winfield Scott Elementary School recently received some assistance in getting newer technology in the hands of its students. During the USD 234 Board of Education meeting Monday night, Winfield Scott Principal Marianna Daugherty and Ryan Stainbrook, a district sales manager for the Monsanto Company, presented information to the board about a $10,000 grant the school received which will fund the purchase of iPads and training for teachers at the kindergarten-through-second grade school...

Pet-tober Fest for the animals

Community members had the chance to support Lee's Paws and Claws Animal Shelter during its first-ever Pet-tober Fest Saturday at the walking trail on the Fort Scott Community College campus. Harrison qualifies for third State trip

CHANUTE -- Fort Scott junior Jennifer Harrison will be going to the Class 4A State Tournament for the third time in as many seasons after finishing sixth at the Chanute Class 4A Regional Tournament here over the weekend.
