Fort Scott Community College football records, as the Tribune has them, are not very extensive. So there's not a lot in the records about the Greyhounds against Iowa schools. However, the Google News Archive project did include the Tribune as one of its papers when it was active and there is some information to be gleaned...

When Independence has won a game this season, the Bulldogs have won big. In their three victories this season, Indy has outscored their opponents 109-31. The bad news for the Bulldogs is that when they lose, they lose big. Granted, one of their losses is to Pittsburg, which clinched the Southeast Kansas League championship last week, but the other was to a Chanute team that's been struggling. And Independence has been outscored in their losses, 98-26...

The Fort Scott Middle School girls' volleyball teams continued their winning ways recently with five matches at Garnett Oct. 2 and an eighth-grade "A" team tournament in Pittsburg Saturday. In Thursday's play, seventh-grade B team (7-1) prevailed over Garnett 25-16, 25-23. The seventh-grade A team (8-3) captured a 25-17, 25-13 decision...

PAOLA -- Fort Scott High School's freshmen football team fell to 3-2 on the season here Monday night, falling to Paola 21-6 in the Tigers' first road game of the season. The lone Tiger touchdown was scored on the game's opening drive, capped by a 3-yard run by Jessie Lawrence. Paola went ahead by the end of the period, 7-6, and added touchdowns later by returning the second-half opening kickoff to the end zone and another third-quarter score set up by a blocked punt...

LaCYGNE -- Fort Scott High School's junior varsity football team routed Prairie View, 56-0, here Monday night. The Tigers improved to 4-1 on the season. They scored eight touchdowns which were scored, in order, by; Vince Tome on a 60-yard run with Taylor Engstrom running in the 2-point conversion...
