Gladys E. Miller, 90, of Fort Scott, a homemaker, died Sept. 3, 2014. Arrangements are by the Midland Cremation Society of Joplin, Mo.

Max Ray Brinkman, 72, of Pittsburg, Kan., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Memorial arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

Rowena Copeland, 82, of Parsons, died at 1:05 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 in the emergency room of Labette Health. She had been cared for at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor since February of 2013, but death was unexpected. She was born Jan. 1, 1932 at Uniontown, the daughter of Robert D. and Gladys B. (Ford) Lind. She lived at Uniontown 10 years, at Bronson six years, at Mildred six years, at Moran 10 years, at Waco, Texas two years and had lived in Parsons since 1967...

A local man pleaded guilty Thursday in Bourbon County District Court to two counts he faced related to a fatal accident he was involved in about two years ago.
