National Ave., has done just that and is celebrating 75 years of business in Fort Scott this year. Store owner Terry Davenport said the business first operated as a music store in the early 1920s and was located at the corner of Wall and Main streets. TOPEKA -- The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for the public water supply located in the city of Uniontown. KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a loss of pressure in the system. Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chorine residuals and bacterial contamination, a KDHE news release said...

Elizabeth "Beth" Marie Brown, 46, of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the Via Christi Village, Pittsburg, Kan. She was born Oct. 20, 1967, at Albany, Mo., the daughter of Richard and Dianne (Hansen) VanVactor. Beth lived in Grant City, Mo., for 21 years, Mound City, Kan., for three years, Fort Scott for two years, Wilson, Kan., for two years, Chanute, Kan., for nine years, Frontenac, Kan., for five years, before moving to Pittsburg, where she has resided for the last three years.. ...
