PAOLA -- Fort Scott High's junior varsity track team competed at Paola on Monday. The officials at Paola don't keep track of team scored and only provided results for the top three finishers in each event, so the results of only three Tigers are available...

MORAN -- John Kuns was the winning pitcher in both games here Tuesday at Uniontown's baseball team swept Marmaton Valley in a Three Rivers League doubleheader, 19-3 and 9-5. Kuns (3-2) pitched 4 innings in both games. In the opener, he didn't allow a hit, walked 3 batters and struck out 5 over the first 4 innings. He, Devonte Robinson and Jesse Kuns combined to allow only one hit to the Wildcats...

Fort Scott High School's softball team swept Independence at Don Hewett Field 13-3 and 5-3 Tuesday to stay in front in the Southeast Kansas League softball race. Coming into the day, Fort Scott, Indy and Labette County were all unbeaten in the SEK although the Tigers had two games in hand. Robert Rosco "Bobby" Arnold, 71, of Fort Scott, Kan., died at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, April 18 2014. Bobby was born March 10, 1943 in Pleasanton, Kan., to Phillip and Glesner (Pruitt) Arnold. Bobby grew up on the family farm and he was always willing to sit and visit about his life there. ...
