LAWRENCE -- Fort Scott High's Katren Rienbolt finished fourth out of 238 competitors in the Blue division of the Rim Rock Cross Country Classic here Saturday. Rienbolt, the defending Kansas Class 4A State champion, finished the four-kilometer course in 15 minutes, 59.7 seconds. Girard freshman Callie Logue was the winner in 15:39.0. Joyce Marie Trogdon of Santa Monica, Calif., passed away Aug. 16, 2013. Her life was cut short when she lost her battle with cancer. Joyce was born in Fort Scott, Kan., on Feb. 17, 1955 to Leonard and Shirley Trogdon. She spent her childhood years on the Trogdon farm, and in her teen years moved to California where she attended Monterey Bay Academy. After graduation, she continued her education at Pacific Union College where she studied to become a phlebotomist...

William "Bill" Jewell Fry Sr., 70, of Fort Scott died Saturday evening, Sept. 28, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 18, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Elzy and Murtle Fry. He married Dorothy Sprague July 31, 1983 in Walnut, Kan. She preceded him in death Jan. 18, 2012...
