Boyd Radean Shaw, 73, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Radean was born June 3, 1940, to Boyd Kennon Shaw and Wynona Mildred Feller. He was married in July 1962 to Lula Bogart, and then later married Hattie LaVerne Fletcher, Dec. 9, 1990 in Garland, Kan. Oda Dorris Keeney, 92, of Fort Scott, died Friday afternoon, July 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. Arrangements for Oda are incomplete and will be announced by the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

Wildflowers bloom in the native prairie patch on the east side of the Fort Scott National Historic Site. The fields are located on the east side of the grounds near the parking lot. Guided Fort tours are available at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily.

It also has a variety of activities and events available to community members throughout fair week, which begins today and continues through July 20.
