Fort Scott Community College will host its annual summer volleyball camps at Arnold Arena on the FSCC campus beginning Tuesday. Tuesday's camp will be an All-Skills Training Camp for those entering seventh grade or lower this coming school year. Cost of the camp is $40. Couple's plan for church diverted in wake of Moore, Okla. tornado (Local News ~ 06/15/13)
A pastor and his wife who had planned to start a new church in Moore, Okla., have turned the building into a relief center for people in the tornado-ravaged city. County accepts bond bid for building

It was an easy choice for commissioners on Friday as they selected the sole bid for bonds to cover the purchase of a building at 102 W. 2nd St. for the Bourbon County Attorney's offices. Citizen's Bank was the only bid on the $190,000 bond, with an annual interest rate of 2.95 percent for the issuance, sale and delivery of the general obligation bond. The money will cover the purchase and repairs on the building, which the county had previously rented for $1,850 per month...
