OSWEGO -- Uniontown High School's golf team played in the Oswego Invitational here Monday. The Eagles only had three golfers and so were not eligible to score as a team. "Our boys did played hard and did a great job," Uniontown head coach Jason Tourtillott said of his very young squad. "Each of the boys we took shot a personal best so we can't ask for much more. William Louis "Louie" Pool, age 87, a former resident of Bronson, Kan., died Monday, April 15 at the Allen County Hospital Emergency Room. He was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Bourbon County, Kan., the son of Pearl Arthur Pool and Edith Perry Pool. Louis was a graduate of Bronson High School. ...

Two individuals were reported to have been bitten by a dog last Saturday evening at Elm Creek Lake southwest of Fort Scott. According to a report from the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office, Gary Wiggans, of Fort Scott, was playing catch with his 8-year-old son in the northeast corner of Elm Creek Lake about 5:30 p.m. when the youngster was bitten by the family dog, an American bull dog, that had been with the pair...
