The Bourbon County Democrats recently elected new officers. Geoff Clark, a local attorney, was named president; Myrtle Anne Colum was elected vice chair, Sandy Wrench as secretary and chiropractor Dr. Lucas Cosens, treasurer. Elks gearing up for Christmas

Nearly 200 families are on the list to receive Christmas dinners this year through the annual Fort Scott Elks Lodge No. 579 Christmas Basket program. Throughout the year, Elks members conduct fundraisers and collect donations that help provide Christmas dinners to needy families all over Bourbon County.
