July 2012 has delivered a knockout punch to many of this year's crops around the county. Conditions on July 1 were noticeably more favorable than conditions 31 days later at month's end. Unlike 2010 when we received 6.57 inches of rain in July, this year's menacing seventh month provided only a scant .50 inches of rain as measured by the National Weather Service in Fort Scott.
