Ralph and Cindy Shead came from Carl Junction, Mo., on Saturday to spend the morning with his mother, Mary V. Shead. They enjoyed lunch from the Bearcat. At noon, the couple left for Sedalia, Mo., for an overnight stay with former college friends. George Joseph Meiwes, 83, of rural Moran, Kan., died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at his home. George was born May 19, 1927, in rural Okarche, Okla., the son of Steve and Margaret Ann (Rausch) Meiwes.
