James "Jim" Daniel Hacker, 78, of Butler, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Bates County Hospital in Butler. He was born May 26, 1932, to Howard and Angie Naomi Palmer Hacker in Nevada, Mo. Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita Hacker of Butler; two sons, Larry Hacker and wife, Loretta, and Ken Hacker and wife, Alice, all of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; one daughter, Donna Thurman and husband, Randy, of Butler; three brothers, Bob Hacker and wife, Carol, of Nevada, Bill Hacker and wife, Margie, of El Dorado Springs, and Dick Hacker and wife, Sandy, of Nevada; one sister, Bonnie McDaniel and husband, Cliff, of Nevada; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. ...

The State of Kansas has signed an agreement with the State of Missouri to permit farmers to drive trucks across state lines without requiring commercial driver's licenses. Both Kansas and Missouri exempt operators of farm vehicles from the commercial driver's license requirement, but without this agreement, the exemption did not extend outside the border of the farmer's home state, according to a news release from the Kansas Department of Revenue...
