We certainly needed some rain last week as the entire month of August registered only six-tenths of an inch in our office rain gauge. I guess if you have to take eight inches to get some rain, you take eight inches, right? There should have been a recharge of pond water levels, too! Hopefully, those soybean plants will find some renewed vigor to put on and fill some additional pods!...

September is here and that means it is prime time to complete a few fall lawn care chores. If you only fertilize cool-season grasses once a year, this would be the best time to do it. Core-aeration can help improve compaction and absorption. And fall is also a great time to establish or reseed cool-season lawns...
